Cat Care Volunteer - Grandville PetSmart Description: Lake Haven partners with the Grandville, MI PetSmart to adopt cats and dogs who would otherwise be euthanized. Volunteers in the cat room at PetSmart are important and valued. The responsibilities of the cat room volunteers include filling food and water dishes, litter box cleaning, cleaning up any mess in the cages, sanitizing empty cages, washing all dirty dishes, emptying the trash, and interacting with the animals. In addition, volunteers will become familiar with adoption policies and basic cat care. Cage cleaning takes between 1-2 hours. Volunteers arrive between 5:30-7:00 PM and stay until the cages are cleaned. Requirements: Lake Haven volunteers must be 18 years of age or older or accompanied by an adult volunteer. We are looking for volunteers who can commit to at least one shift per month. Typically, most cat room volunteers work one shift per week. Training will be provided. Transportation to and from the Grandville PetSmart is required. Food, cleaning and other supplies are provided. Lake Haven is run by the kindness, hard work and dedication of its nearly 100 volunteers. Volunteering is a great way to earn class credit, add a skill to your resume, build character and give back to the community. We are always looking for the right volunteers to perform a variety of tasks.
